Senior Developer / Team Lead

Greenfinch Technology has an opening for a software development team lead to join our senior team in order to help us to service our existing customers and projects and assist us in building upon our service and product offering into the future.
This is a hands-on role for an intelligent software developer with deep experience of the .NET and Java technology stacks. In addition to having the skills and experience listed here, successful candidates will be self-starting and care deeply about delivering great solutions. It is expected that the successful applicant will take on a team lead role and will need to demonstrate soft-skills including managing clients and other software developers. This represents an opportunity to join a talented team in a fast-growing and successful Irish software company.

Requirements
  • At least 6 years’ (combined) practical exposure to .NET and Java (Spring or J2EE)
  • Systems analysis and design skills using at least one major methodology, with at least some experience with user interaction design
  • Working knowledge of at least one ORM framework
  • Good knowledge of SQL Server to include database schema design, query design and optimisation and performance tuning
  • Professional exposure to agile development methodologies, preferably Scrum, to include experience of practices such as TDD and unit testing
  • Client-facing experience and excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one major code repository, preferably Git or Subversion
  • Knowledge and understanding of software engineering best practices, including object-oriented design and software design patterns
  • Experience of team management, hiring and mentoring
  • Good academic qualification in a STEM discipline
  • Working knowledge of client-side libraries such as JQuery, Twitter Bootstrap and Angular
  • Solid UI / UX design skills, Photoshop a bonus
  • Groovy / Grails, WordPress or Orchard
  • RESTful service design against the HAL specification
  • Web Services (SOAP, XML Web Services, WSDL)
  • DevOps topics and technology such as Hudson, Docker, Octopus Deploy
  • Mobile technologies such as Xamarin, Phonegap, iOS, Android

Software Developers

Requirements
  • 1 – 3 years development experience with the Microsoft .NET development stack OR
  • 1 – 3 years development experience in Java
